Nuri Andarwulan received her PhD (2000) in Food Science from Bogor Agricultural University with a sandwich program for her research at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst USA. She accomplished non-degree training overseas and in country. She actively serves as lecturer at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Bogor Agricultural University (1987-now) and researcher at the Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center, at the same university. Currently she is the Director of the center. Formerly, she held position as Secretary of the Department of Food Science and Technology-IPB and Executive Secretary of the center. She was also appointed as reviewer of project for improvement education quality funded by international funding agencies, i.e. TPSDP-ADB (2004-2005), IMHERE-WB (2005-2010). Several expertise assignments have been done as trainer and researcher of GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) and Indonesian Nutrition Foundation for Food Fortification (KFI); peer-review of food additives risk assessment and trainer of food inspector at National Agency for Drug and Food Control, Indonesia; resource person for National Food Consumption Survey and Total Diet Study at the Ministry of Health; and for chemicals risk assessment of fish and fishery products at the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affair. She is appointed byASEAN Expert Group on Food Safety Indonesia as Scientific Committe member of ASEAN Risk Assessment Center (ARAC). She is the Editor in Chief of Jurnal Mutu Pangan (Indonesian Journal of Food Quality), Editor in Chief of Food For Kids Indonesia and Vice Editor in Chief for FoodReview Indonesia. Her research interests are in food analysis, plant secondary metabolites, functional food and functional properties of food components.
