Prof. Dr. Purwiyatno Hariyadi is currently Advisory Board and Senior Scientist of Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center, Bogor Agricultural University. He is also a lecturer at Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Bogor Agricultural University. He finished his BS in Food Technology from Bogor Agricultural University (in 1984); and continued his study in University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He obtained his Master (1990) and PhD (1995) degree in Food Chemistry (minor Chemical Engineering), from Department of Food Science, university of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. He actively involves with many professional organizations, among other Institute of Food Technologist (IFT) and Institute for Thermal Process Specialists (IFTPS). His interest is in general area of food technology, with special emphasis on (i) post harvest handling and processing of agricultural products; especially fruits and palm oil, and (ii) processing and engineering; especially in the area of thermal processing (sterilization, pasteurization, food canning). His passion is writing is manifested in his role as a Chief Editor of monthly magazine of FOODREVIEW Indonesia
