Executive Secretary of Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center, Bogor Agricultural University
I hold a Ph.D in Molecular Nutrition and have been conducting various research projects in the topics of bioactive/functional compounds effect on inflammation and related cellular signaling. Some of the research projects I have been involved in also study antioxidants effect in health. My management qualifications are reflected by some projects I am responsible for, involving international partners. These projects range from trainings and conferences to educational projects such as international student exchanges
Program Manager of Southeast Asia Food & Agricultural Science & Technology (SEAFAST) Center
Prof. Lilis Nuraida is a lecturer at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Bogor Agricultural University. She also serves as Program Manager of Southeast Asia Food & Agricultural Science & Technology (SEAFAST) Center IPB. As a researcher, she focuses her research in the area of beneficial use of lactic acid bacteria, including their health benefit, their role in non-lactic food fermentation and their activity in inhibiting spoilage and pathogenic bacteria. Her research papers have been published in national and international journals as well as presented in national and international conferences. Prof. Lilis Nuraida actively provides training on food microbiology and safety related courses for food industries and government institutions. She also involved in developing guidance for production of safer food for Small Enterprises, Food Vendors and School Canteen, under coordination of National Agency for Drug and Food Control, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and Culture
Prof. Ratih Dewanti-Hariyadi is a Professor in Food Microbiology at the Department of Food Science and Technology and the Southeast Asian Food & Agriculture Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesia. Her research includes characterization, survival, control and development of detection methods of bacterial pathogens in foods (mainly Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Cronobacter sakazakii). In the country, she has been a consultant for the National Agency for Drug and Food Control since 2001 and currently is consulting on the revision of microbiological standards in foods. She lead the technical subcommittee for the development of analytical standard methods for food contaminants for the Ministry of Agriculture (2007-2102) and occasionally serves in the ad hoc committees for the National Standardization Agency. In 2007 she was appointed a member of the International Commission on Microbiological Specifications for Foods (ICMSF). She is also the Vice Chair of the South East Asia Affiliate of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP). Professor Dewanti-Hariyadi is the head of Food Science Study Program, Post Graduate School, IPB. She earned her PhD in Food Microbiology with a minor in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, US in 1995
Siti Nurjanah completed her PhD (2014) in Food Science from Bogor Agricultural University in the research area of Food Microbiology. She actively teaches as lecturer at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Bogor Agricultural University (2005-now) and researcher at the Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center, at the same university. Currently she is appointed as Quality Assurance Manager of the center.
Her research interests are in food microbiology, especially on development of molecular-based detection for bacterial pathogen. Her master degree in the major of Biotechnology (from Bogor Agricultural University) led her to perform the research in this area that is application of biotechnological tools for microbial detection and tracking. She successfully performed transforming the bacteria by green fluorescence protein gene insertion for labeling them. Her experience become deputy of technical manager for microbiological analysis in food laboratory services (2006-2015) led her to able to manage microbiological laboratory in SEAFAST Center
