  Foodborne illness is a significant burden. Based on WHO report on the estimation of the global burden of foodborne diseases; about thirty-one foodborne hazards cause 32 diseases, such as 11 diarrhoeal disease agents, 7 invasive infectious disease agents, 10 helminths and 3 chemicals1. In this globalization era, food supplies are produced from high-tech and complex sys-tem/mechanisms. Herein, more varied foods are available in the market, which can also have possibilities to contain new hazards in foods which previously have not been seen. This can raise emerging contaminants in the food products, which should be concerned and/or monitored by the food producers (food industries). The safety of the foods (either imported or nationally produced) for human consumption is of importance to be well regulated, monitored, disseminated and informed by the responding stakeholders.

Eligibility

  1. A team consists of 2 to 3 members. All members are active undergraduate (S1) students from any major in a public or private university.
    Proven by student identity card (KTM)
  2. A team can only submit one abstract
  3. A member can only join one team

  2. The Competition is Free
  3. Registration and Abstract submission wil be closed on October 1st 2017

Competition Rule

  1. Each team has to develope a new product that complies with FPDC 2017 theme
  2. The developed product must contain at least 1 (one) ingredient from DUPONT, can be found at

  3. The competition consist of 3 (three) stages : (i) Abstract Selection, (ii) Paper Selection and
    (iii) Final Presentation and product display
